Scott Soul is a French-Canadian music composer. He began writing musical pieces at the age of 14, in June 2008, merely as a running gag with high school friends. But as he grew older and his music matured, they became an outlet for the artistic expression of his spiritual journey, filled with many great personal lessons, heartaches and joys.
Since then, Scott Soul holds more than 200 original compositions to his name and remains active today with an unparalleled passion for musical composition. Inspired by his own ability to blend a wide variety of musical genres through a distinct and unique style, Scott Soul draws his biggest influences namely from Frank Zappa, Diablo Swing Orchestra, Yanni, Ludwig van Beethoven, Victor Wooten, Harmonium and Slipknot.
As a person, he attributes his greatest influence to the illustrious thinker Carl Gustav Jung who, as a painter and founder of analytical psychology, advocated “the artist” as the single most important instrument to his own work—a profound realization which struck the young Québécois and paved the way for “Scott Soul” to be born in him.
